Art of Traditional Chinese Calligraphy – Tampines

This week, the ChildFirst @ Tampines K2 children immersed themselves in the art of traditional Chinese calligraphy as part of their cultural studies. They were introduced to the “Four Treasures of the Study” — the brush, ink, paper, and inkstone. After gaining an understanding of these essential tools and learning how to properly hold a brush, the children practised their strokes on water writing cloths before transitioning to real ink. Through this hands-on experience, they not only honed their writing skills but also gained an appreciation for the elegance and depth of Chinese cultural heritage.
